Darrell Long talks about local search optimization, a really hot topic lately.
I know, I’m one month late but I had problems with my camera…
but I hope you will enjoy this very interesting presentation about link building strategies by Loren Baker, Editor in Chief of Search Engine Journal.
South Florida SEO Meetup - June from Davide Di Cillo on Vimeo.
Tonight I’ll go to the South Florida SEO Meetup of this this month and hopefully I’ll be able to post the video in the next few days.
Ok, as I promised I started a UStream.tv channel about online marketing. You can find it here. And the first video (actually divided in two parts) is about the first South Florida SEO Meetup about “Getting started with social media” where Mark Laymon of www.AListSEO.com is giving an introduction and few juicy tips about social media marketing. I promise to create a better quality production next time, maybe using an external camera (this time I used the webcam embedded in my Mac Book Pro) and an external microphone.

Part 2
Next Tuesday I’ll see if it will be possible to broadcast a PPC Meetup here in Pompano Beach, so stay tuned!
So I went to this South Florida SEO Meetup and I loved it. Really cool people, really cool topic: SEO and Analytics, a shotgun wedding.
First half of the presentation was about the reasons why SEO and Analytics should always work together. The second half was a case history to show how Omniture (the most powerful - and expensive - analytic tool available) works. I personally never saw Omniture before and I have to say that I was simply amazed. It’s unbelievable how deep you can go in the analysis of your traffic. It’s almost scary.
Now I’m really excited about the next meeting, it will be just a gathering meeting, but it will still be great meeting really interesting people again. I also had the idea of doing a live broadcast of it next time, probably using Yahoo! Live, and possibly I’ll try to record them as well and post them online for archive purposes. So stay tuned!
Thinking about the possible features of the Google Phone (G-Phone) I also thougth about some funny problems could come with it:
Ok, what I’m going to write about is just a funny thing i noticed.
If you search on Google for “search engine” it happens that Google isn’t the first result. Actually is not even the second or the third result but the sixth one… even Live Search of MSN comes before Google.
Dogpile takes the 4th position while the 2nd and the 3rt results are two non-search engine websites and this is quite interesting, because they probably did a really good SEO job.
The keyword “search engine” has an estimated monthly search volume of 1,495,018 searches, so probably both of those website are getting a good traffic just from that keyword.
I know, isn’t my business but I thought was funny that THE search engine cannot rank himself for “search engine” even if it doesn’t need it (if you search for “search engine” on Google you are already on it!).
