A lot of people think that web domains market is getting too saturated to make some good money.
I’m personally not a domainer but I often buy domains hoping to develop them one day.
Anyway, there is still a lot of money to be made with domains. How? Think about the future.
When the domains market started nobody was thinking about used hybrid cars, or used hydrogen car. Neither today they are pretty rare. But they will be very common and profitable in the future. So the related domains.
A couple of days ago gasprices.com has been sold for $225,000. Do you think is it just a coincidence that one of the hottest topic of today is gas price? I’m pretty sure nobody would have spent that kind of money if gas was sold for $0.50 per gallon.
So if you want to jump into the market today there is plenty of room, just try to think to what is not common yet and in few years you might a small fortune in your portfolio.

Today I’ve been contacted by a guy from Digital Point who subscribed to an affiliate program with my affiliate link. He wanted to know if buying traffic on Digital Point and sent it to one of their offers (a diet offer) was a good idea. That’s it, no landing pages, no preselling, nothing. This guy wanted just to buy something like 10,000 visitors and send them straight to his affiliate link.
So I tried to explain him what he should do (because if he makes money I would make money of course), telling him what is working the best for myself, that is not a lot and it requires no more than 2 hours of work for a landing page. His answer was that all this work was not compatible with his skills. That was too much and that he was looking for something easier. Well, there is no easy money, at least not overnight.
You might find a way to have sites on “autopilot”, so then it will be easy money, but you still need to work to get to that point.
I wish making money was easy as buying bulk traffic and send it to an offer page, but if it was that easy I would probably drive a Lamborghini right now instead of my GTI

First of all: they are really young. This guys are making hundreds of thousands of net profit every month and some of them are not even allowed to drink beer yet… impressive.
For sure this guys have a terrific mix of intelligence, smart intuitions, luck (yes, I think that luck is fundamental too) but especially a lot of maturity in the way they manage their success (at least the ones I know about. How many times you thought that if you were making XXX,XXX per month you would buy that nice car you just saw passing by or buying that luxurious house on the inter coastal? Well it happens to me a lot. Probably the fact that most of them leave in suburbia (nothing wrong with it) helps, not being constantly tempted to spend money like here in South Florida where seems that having a Lamborghini is a mush and one million dollar houses are still a good a deal.
Instead they are banking, creating for themselves and their family a solid and wealthy future instead of living the rockstar life.
You guys have all my respect. You rock.

So, as all you (8 or 9 of you…) can see I haven’t post in a while… so time to get back to my blogging. Nothing really special happened to be honest.
I really decided to put more thought inside my PPC campaigns, so the past weekend I totally rewrote all my Adwords campaigns for my most profitable sites. Now I have to see if I just blown up my revenues or I did the right move.
I started working on new campaigns relative to different verticals as well, I’m still looking for my sweet spot like other super affiliates already did.
Last week I also updated my workstation at home, now composed by my 15″ Mac Book Pro, another 24″ monitor, wireless mouse and keyboard and a new chair (that I just noticed I already ruined against the desk… sigh). The funny thing is that the first post I read after setting everything up was this one: If You Want To Be A Super Affiliate…Act Like One where Paul Bourque cited upgrading chair and monitor…
Ok, time to go to bed, I will have to wake up in about 5 hours to go to work…

I’m personally a big fan of Jeremy Schoemaker, and I find out about shoemoney.com not because of the famous picture with the check but because I started listening at his show on WebMasterRadio.
While recently his blog has been awarded with 3 prizes by the Search Engine Journal, I keep reading on some forums (like here) bad comments about him for several reasons.
I think it’s just envy people cause they don’t understand why people love reading that blog. It’s not because teach how to make money, neither because he has really unique news (even if he has the privileged point of view of the insider) but because he made it.
I think people love reading his blogs cause he shows time after time that if you want you can get there, if you want to be successful you can, if you want to lose wait you can, if you want a family you can. It’s all about focusing on what you really want, working hard and keep trying. Then if he sells ads even to Satan I really care cause for that kind of my I would probably sell the space on my mother’s forehead… and I’m pretty sure these people who criticize him cause he seems to have a deal with facebook would do the same…

No, I didn’t start hanging around with the pusher down the street.
But I watched a lot of movies and documentaries about them, like Cocaine Cowboys and American Gangster.
I recently watched both of them and I notice few recurring elements that could help online marketers as well.
- Who makes the biggest money doesn’t sell anything. They just move big quantity of drugs/users in the most efficient and cheapest way as possible. Lower costs, bigger margins.
- Observe and learn from who has been in the business more than you. Try to understand why they are doing good and how they could do better. Frank Lucas (American Gangster) learned everything he know from the guy he was working for but he improved it big time.
- Find out what people is looking for. Frank Lucas went where the junk where to better understand what they were looking for and how much where they paying for. On top of that try to understand what’s going to be the next “big thing”. You’ll be always able to sell marijuana but the real money isn’t there.
- Brand your product. Make it easy to recognize. Frank Lucas was always making sure that nobody else was using the name of his product if they modify it. His brand meant quality and low cost. Everybody knew it and everybody was looking for it. He gave it a name and an identity and he took care of it.
- Deal with your source. If you see results in your campaign don’t be afraid to talk to your affiliate managers. They want you to succeed as much as you. If you are profitable they are profitable. When I started bringing to WebmasterLife $X,XXX per month every month they didn’t have any problem to show me some love.
- Take a low profile. If you find something that works take it for yourself and don’t over use it. Unless of course spreading the word will give you even a bigger profit. If you don’t take a low profile somebody (like Google, Facebook or what else you are marketing) could notice you and give you troubles.
I know, probably this post is really full of grammar mistakes, so if anybody wanna help with corrections you are welcome!

Today I read this really interesting article about what could happen soon in Silicon Valley.
It’s really interesting thinking how much money and capitals are flowing into hundreds of startup companies. I personally dream about having my own startup company, and making money in this Web 2.0 era like other guys in their 20’s. But how long is going to last? Is this the right moment to jump on the train or would it be better waiting the next round?
I personally think that right now everybody is coming out with their Web 2.0 product, and in my opinion most of them are useless. Yes, it’s cool to plan an event with some Web 2.0 application but is it really necessary? Making few call phones wouldn’t be easier? Probably people will start to figure it out pretty soon and this will be the end of most of this startups.
I’m actually working with my co-worker Dustin to something that could be a cool online tool, nothing really new but an improvement of something already existing. Will see what will happen, but we already decided we are not going to look for any venture capital investment…

After looking around on blogs (Poor SEM), chats and forums I decided to try to make some money doing arbitrage.
Arbitrage is essentially buying cheap traffic on PPC networks and selling high paid traffic on PPC networks. If your landing page is well done and your keywork research is good enough you should make easy money. That’s what i read.
The reality is quite different. Isn’t that easy to create a really effective landing page, and isn’t that easy find cheap keywords to buy traffic and high paid keywords to sell it. So where is the promised easy money? Right now I’m still “testing” (a nice way to say that I’m loosing money) and I don’t know how long it will take before I’ll start to have a stable income. I’m not talking about a big amount of money, I just want a stable amount of money, enough stable that will let me calculate an accurate estimate of the ROI (Return on Investment).
Lets see if I can make it.
After 4 days of testing the balance is 10% of lost… It could be worst, I know, but it could be much better. The main problem I found was that the test has been made on a not enough well paid keyword, so with my CTR (about the 28%) I cannot cove the expenses. I have a better landing page for a better paid keyword but I still have problems generating the traffic with Adwords.
That’s probably my goal for the next two days, bringing traffic to that page to see how much is its CTR and if I found a good keyword to work with.
