Looooong time…

Thursday, October 11th, 2007 |

I know, I haven’t write anything for more than a month. I actually wrote a news about VideoHybrids been shut down but it came back online before I could post it…

For who is interested I got my refound by Apple (now I’m waiting for Leopard to buy it) and I got other $106 from American Express (Amex… the way to go) so basically I paid my iPhone only $399. Not too bad for having it since day 1 of the iPhone era.

Today while having breakfast I was reading “The Flier”, a small classified ads magazine I receive by email, and with my surprise (maybe everybody already knew it) I saw people looking for “Google Ads Clickers”. C’mon seriously? I wonder if Google doesn’t know or just doesn’t care. They could easily get the toll number of this ads and sue the owner of it. Easy.

I think there is still a huge untouched profit on that gray area between web and reality, where we can use real word ads or media to drive people on our online business. It’s all about testing. As always.

Funny problems of Google Phone

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007 |

Thinking about the possible features of the Google Phone (G-Phone) I also thougth about some funny problems could come with it:

  • When you will look for a name in you address book you will always see ads before it.
  • If your phone is turned off it might redirect people calling you to an advertiser.
  • Everybody will try to be the first one in your address book.
  • Google will always know where you are so it can give you better geo-targeted ads.
  • It will be always really difficult to call the exact person you are looking for.
  • Your position in the address book will determined by an algorithm based on how many people has your number in the address book and how important they are.
  • People will pay Google to be in your address book.
